I am interested in blockchain technologies, especially decentralized finance.
I currently am the Head of Business Development at Axal (a16z CSX ’23), where we build cryptographically verifiable agents for a broad range of tasks. Our first proof-of-concept is a yield engine that autonomously reallocates liquidity to maximize risk-adjusted returns. We aim to deliver higher and safer yield than anywhere else on the planet. Previously, I spent time at the Spartan Group, a multi-strat crypto investment firm; an AI startup founded by senior Alibaba and DoorDash executives; xAI, Elon Musk’s AI lab, as one of its youngest full-time employees; and the Crypto Engineering Centre at Imperial College London. On the side, I am (1) developing an on-chain parametric insurance protocol for farmers facing crop loss and (2) investing as an angel in [].
I have also worked with four United Nations bodies, one of whom I represented as a speaker and government advisor at COP29. In high school, I debated for the Canadian National Team.
I study Economics at Harvard and am an avid NLH/PLO poker player. Please feel free to reach out at eric_li1@college.harvard.edu or eric@getaxal.com.
